UPDATE — New Strikers, Formations & Bigger Players
Big update just dropped for Naija 5s Super League. Here's what's new:
🔥 Every team now has a 3-Star Striker
Each club's forward has been upgraded to elite level — faster, more aggressive, and smarter in front of goal. When they get the ball in the right zone, expect fireworks.
Speaking of which: 3-star strikers now fire a FIREBALL that phases through the keeper about 90% of the time. No diving heroics will save you. The shot triggers automatically from three hot-zones on the pitch — top of the box, wide diagonal angles, and long-range central — so you'll see them pull the trigger from different positions, not just straight in front of goal.
🛡️ Every team also has a 3-Star Defender
One CB per squad has been maxed out on aggression — wider steal range, faster reaction, and they always press the ball carrier. If you're dribbling near the danger zone, they're coming for you.
📐 All 7 Teams Now Play Different Formations
No more copy-paste shapes. Each team has a distinct tactical identity:
- NAIJA — 4-3-3 Balanced
- WARRI FC — 4-2-3-1 Counter-attack (two DMs sit deep, lone striker plays very high)
- LAGOS KINGS — 3-4-3 Wing-backs (fullbacks push forward like wing-backs)
- ABUJA EAGLES — 5-4-1 Ultra-defensive (deep block, isolated striker on the counter)
- KANO STARS — 4-1-4-1 Pivot (single holding mid controls the centre)
- RIVERS ROVERS — 4-3-3 High Press (high defensive line, constant pressure)
- ENUGU FC — 4-4-2 Diamond (attacking mid feeds two strikers)
👤 Players Are Bigger
Sprites have been scaled up 50%. Easier to track players during hectic moments, and the game just feels more alive on screen.
🧤 Goalkeeper Fix
Keepers were sometimes diving dramatically at shots that weren't even heading toward the goal. Fixed — they'll now only dive at shots that actually threaten the net.
