Thank you so much for the SRD. Using a cootie catcher as a ttrpg tool is such a cool idea. I'm having trouble following the instruction though...
3. the player picks which one they wish to explore and roll the d8 again as a D4 [So I would just regard a 5 as a 1, right? Or 1-2:1; 2-3:2; etc. so far so good...]
4. they then fold to catcher the amount rolled one last time and pick the corresponding number
[ that doesn't seem to be possible, since the flaps are numbered 1-8 with one fold showing 2,4,5,8 and the other fold showing 1,3,6,7. so no matter how I used a d8 as a d4, chances are the number rolled is not displayed on the fold.]
So my question is this: why not simply number the flaps inside as 1-4 for each fold? 2x1-4.
Sorry, it's been a coupler decades since I last folded a cootie catcher. So the experience was a little confusing from the start :D
