Combat Rules Clarification

I just got to the first combat on 9th Jan and I'm a little confused.

If I HIT my opponent in the first round, and deal enough Damage so that they are STUNNED, they don't get to make an attack. But, do I get the 1 gold reward at this point? And do I still have to play out the second round of combat or are they defeated?

Assuming I still play the second round, if I then MISS, and then my opponent deals their Full Damage, does that mean I actually didn't win the combat, so shouldn't get the 1 gold reward after all?

Or, if I'd been successful in both the first and second rounds of combat, would I have received the reward twice, for a total of 2 gold as a reward?

I also have the same question, as the full rules posted on the website indicate enemies DIE rather than stunned. On  back of Jan 10 there is also a combat reminder and it is the same as full rules.

I'm not 100% sure on this but:

If you did enough damage in the first round to STUN them, you should get the gold reward and they are defeated. It seems like under normal combat, the enemy would DIE, but this particular combat requires them to be STUNNED (they may be used tomorrow)

Therefore you should not play the 2nd round of combat. (but even if you did, I think because the enemy is STUNNED, they wouldn't be able to attack you)

I think the "How Combat Works" rule on the page explains most of this:

If you MISS or if the enemy is NOT STUNNED, it attacks. So if you do enough damage to stun it, you will skip the enemy attack portion of this round. There's nothing to say you don't continue to Round 2. So regardless of whether you MISS, NOT STUN, or STUN the enemy, you'll still move on to Round 2.

What is wildly unclear to me is the meaning of "if you defeat th enemy" - there is no condition spelled out on the page or in the  Combat rules of how to determine defeat. For myself, I'm going to assume that for each round I STUN the enemy, I'll take the gold reward.

Just a thought. Would round 1 go to one character and round 2 to your second character?

I played it a little differently I played each round as if it was a 2 phase enemy

Round 1:

Me: Atk: 16+1, Dmg: 8, Win +1 Gold

Round 2:

Me: Atk: 9+1       Tobin: Def: 19+3+2, Dmg: 0

Me: Atk: 4+1       Tobin: Def: 13+3+2, Dmg: 0

Continued…

Me: Atk: 17+1, Dmg: 3 (This decreased Goldleaf health to 2 for this round)

Continued…

Me: Atk: 19+1, Dmg: 2, Win +1 Gold

Update: I found a video on YouTube explaining the combat system. Round 1 you roll to attack, if successful roll for damage, if damage is more than health, win reward. If attack was unsuccessful, roll for defense, take full or partial damage accordingly. Move onto next round and repeat process until all rounds are done. I guess you miss out on the reward if you don’t do enough damage to them in the round.
