welcome to the world of 'underwater mortuary', an introspect into my experiences growing up in the deep south as a neurodivergent, transgender, plagued-by-mental-illness adolescent. many, if not all, of these characters are based on real people in my life who have significantly impacted me one way or another. every character however has been reworked in many ways to individualize them and avoid bringing real life too close to my art. i ask in advance that everyone be respectful, as this is my first real project i've chosen to pour my heart & soul into. the main character has many, many pessimistic and negative traits as a reflection of the angst i felt as a middle schooler with anger issues - etc, etc. regardless, i hope you enjoy my little creation :0)!

Since early childhood, Maxine has been plagued by night terrors and the bellowing echo of imaginary companions following them around at every move. Their social battery drains quickly, their body shuts down sitting in the sun, and the depression has overcome them to the point of pure exhaustion.

 As Halloween Night arrives and a party at Camille's house approaches, Maxine decides to rest their eyes to prepare for the grueling experience of forcing a smile to party-going college kids.

 With eyes laid shut and a mouth drooling wide open,
Max fades to sleep and enters the Dreamscape -
a common sequence of interchangeable dreams and nightmares with their Companions nowhere to be found.
The only time for quiet.
Though this time, there was something.. there.
A watching eye.
A presence.
Too. Many. People.
ESCAPE.

progress report . . . . . 3% completion.

A BRIEF CONCEPT COLLECTION || OCT25 { IN A WEEK }

maxine's home ?? // a concept

a small view of max's house they're renting for $280 every 2 months because people in town
including the landlord think its got bad energy but in reality it just needs a paint job and clean windows.
max is too lazy to fix it. the charm is also a factor.

( originally a gif . . . :/ )
