I made a tiny prototype of an idle game: Haven for an Olive Tree and Doves (https://snowyyang.itch.io/haven-for-an-olive-tree-and-doves).
The idea is clean, but I do not know what to do next. Shall I start to make multimedia for the game? Graphics, animations, music, sound effects... it might cost a lot and I am not confident about the results... Shall I add more complex game mechanics? Collected flags would have some effects on the tree, doves and even the weather... Maybe I should do both but I lack the motivation.
There is another choice. Just pack the prototype to .html/.exe/.apk... and publish it everywhere: Steam, Google Play, iOS App Store, Microsoft Store... Keep it simple, tiny, pure and even naive. Maybe change the font to a childish one, add some simple colors, do things not very costly, making it looks like a newbie's very first game instead of a professional one. Also, mark it with an open license and welcome any second creation.
