The game seems very cool, the arts and the writting are awesome.

I would like to know if the choice between Sandbox or Visual Novel mode affect something in the story.

Sandbox Mode was the first mode it allows you to move around the house and explore, you need to go to the location of the scene to activate the scene
Visual Novel mode basically hits the scene in the ideal order without needing to navigate the house. There are a few scenes that can't be accessed in VN mode, but if you want the easiest way to get the content, that's it.
