MC Starting class and traits

Looking for assistance/tips on MC starting build, latest edition on Normal mode. Played for a few hours with different classes but haven't found a comfortable balance.

I've seen a couple of guides that suggest Intelligence is important. Therefore would expert scholar be the way to go? (Seems the $200 retainer would be very useful as well).

Assuming Expert Scholar, then what would be the suggestion for the remaining 80 points? Intelligence to 90 as one guide I saw suggested (have 50 at this stage from Expert Scholar) and/or 20 points in Novice of another skill? Also suggestions for Traits (let's be honest - I have to take Well-hung!!) would be much appreciated as none of them jump out to me.

Was thinking:

Expert scholar (120 points), Max starting Intelligence 90 (40), Well hung (5), Manipulate 80 (35) = 120

  • +10 to Academics
  • +15 to Science
  • +5 to INTELLIGENCE
  • +5 to WILLPOWER
  • +15 to Academics
  • +5 to Science
  • +5 to Manipulate
  • +500 Influence
  • +20 to Intelligence
  • +15 to Willpower
  • +45 to Academics
  • +10 to Science
  • +25 to Manipulate
  • +15 to Charm
  • +1,000 Influence
  • +$1,000
  • You start with an active Academy assignment and a high Standing value (800) with the Academy.
  • You are the author of a book whose name you can choose (Default name: Gandorian History), which provides you with a retainer of $200/day.

And then just train every thing else?

All thoughts/suggestions appreciated and thanks in advance.

PS Thoughts on massive load??

Hi,

These days I only use a  single class and the rest of the points are in traits and disadvantages. Be careful with disadvantages though they can ruin your late game.

Nothing in stats! Because stats are easily increased through courses, books, actions. events etc..

Although be careful with minor stats  as some skills require specific stat values or above to be able to use.

For example I think that to repair your hulc armor requires at least a 50 in blacksmith. which you may not have if playing a slaver.
