Heya guys, I'm relatively new to Itch. io, and I wanna share an asset pack (25 fruits) while waiting for it to be indexed which I'm not sure when, it's my first foray on selling stuff like this, coming from a nobody. Now what I want to hear is your thought about it, I've done some bit of promotion on Reddit (on the Aseprite and Itch.io community) and X (a single barebones post), so far it has gotten 15 views but no downloads as of writing this.

I've got a bit of critics feedback which I appreciated regarding my asset pack, and it's artstyle, a few said my art are too extreme in colors and lighting, escpecially on backlight and jaggies, inconsistent shapes of fruits and leaves making them unrecognizable. I agreed on them, as my style are quite time consuming for me to finish each fruits, someone could've made over 50+ before I was done halfway! So, for my future projects I would tone everything down, I'll just be making small items for the foreseeable future like the ones below (32X32 or 16X16), because I'm still not confident making something beyond these, and i've only got my phone on the pixelmaking side, my laptop is weak and only functions for editing the theme.

What do you think is the right direction for me to go here, is it to just go the generic route and make it as appealing as possible to everyone (atleast those if they are interested), or go the route where I still adopt a distinct style like below but toned down so it's much easier on me?

Oh and also the link

(Disclaimer: I'm not rich off of the itch marketplace either. I've made enough money to go, "Okay, I think I can work with this if I keep at it, and it's making me happy, good enough." Please don't take me as an authority.)

The generic route is useful because if people need something you're not selling, they can probably still get it somewhere else. Right now, all you have is fruits, but there aren't gonna be a whole lot of games where fruit is the only thing in the player's inventory. So even if someone really likes your art style, they're inevitably going to face a style clash problem if they try to actually use it.

Can you draw a wide enough variety of items that someone could make a whole game with a full inventory drawn in your style? If so, proceed. If not, and if sales are important to you, go generic.
