When I was playing, I used my save files to regularly back up my progress, but when I tried to load the files, they only used the data from the first time I saved with that file.

All of my progress is gone and those save slots are unusable. Please help.

Yeah, not only does it not really let you overwrite save files but it also just stops letting you save to new slots after a period of time.
