Void Pyramid

Void Pyramid is a post-apocalyptic RPG set in the space-faring Egyptian empire.
In the far future, the maniacal Prime Pharaoh rules the wastelands of Earth. Any who oppose him are exiled to the Void Pyramid. This outer space prison is populated by criminals, beasts, and mutants. No one has ever escaped, but you must try.

I learned about this gem from an old episode of Video Games Hot Dog where Zach enthusiastically recommended it and lamented that the game is totally free, considering the hours of high-quality content. I was enamored of the trailer, and also had a nostalgiac pang when I realized it was made in O.H.R.RPG.C.E., an obscure little JRPG engine I used to have a lot of fun on in my tweens.

Void Pyramid may resemble a JRPG at a glance but it plays in many ways like a tabletop RPG. Your character's class and stats determine which paths through the labyrinthine dungeon are open to you. The choices you make determine how you can overcome obstacles, how other characters will respond to you, what secrets you might discover. The writing is simple, effective at making its world compelling.

At this price, you can't go wrong. I personally played about four hours and was satisfied with my ending, but I can see myself revisiting this.
