If I buy and open a chest in the Shop, the counter doesn't advance.

If I open the Gatcha chest, the counter advances.

What chests other than the Gatcha chest will advance the time? Or do I just have to wait 16 hours for the Gatcha chest to spawn 4 times (I know I can always buy Gatcha chests or use items to open them).
