Possible to use poiyomi shader?

I typically use poiyomi shaders for my avatars and find that when using different shaders on other assets, its very hard to get the world lighting to play nice in all conditions.  However, I can't figure out a way to easily use poiyomi shaders/retexture this asset.  The shader it comes with is very nice, can easily color matching an avatar, but doesn't always react to world lighting as I would like and is not as adjustable as poiyomi in that regard.

Is there some way that I could retexture the mesh and use a different shader without breaking the vrcfury stuff?

I have tried importing just the mesh into substance painter, exporting textures along with an FBX that works with the generated UVs, but it breaks the asset if I try to use that mesh + poiyomi.
