I understand that because of some packaging issue (didn't really follow the details) the current Pacman build is outdated (still 2.5.0), and there's some other mistake on the versioning that prevents the client from doing the update on it's own.

I have been unable to get the other packages to work for me, so my guess is that I'm stuck waiting for the Pacman package to be updated. Is there a way to be notified of this instead of having to manually check and see if anything has changed? I think this might be warranted given the situation.
