You have to befriend Adrian, there may be a bug with older saves preventing the option so you might have to start over

I personally did the sharing route and it triggered for me after I came back from a Hiking Trip. Unsure about non-sharing though.

No, it just means spending time with him, like playing games and generally being nice to him, no Anna sharing required.

Not really as far as I know, I've been trying a route playing with him every tuesday but the Japan trip never opens, I think the only way to unlock it is to share someone with him, either Anna, Alice or Sam, I usually go for Sam since I'm already sharing her

Not necessary, you just need to hang out with him and be nice to him, you don't have to do any sharing.
