Maze of Whispers will continue to evolve as it receives updates. Here is what we have planned for the future:
Alpha 1 (current):

Unique loot with unique appearances
- Random dungeons
- Each floor is randomly generated each time it is loaded.
- Rooms are randomly populated with monsters, based on encounter tables
- Scaling difficulty: Monsters and rewards continue to increase as the player descends
- Each biome has layers with corresponding level ranges.
- Each layer has its own monster encounter table.
- More difficult monsters should spawn on lower layers.
- The layer is determined by the starting level of the current floor. For example, in the caverns:
- The Upper Caverns is limited to level 1.
- The Lower Caverns exists from levels 2 through 4.
- The Deep Caverns is from levels 5 onward.
- Each biome has layers with corresponding level ranges.
- Scaling rewards:
- Each biome has its own loot tables
- Item rewards increase with each layer.
- Item improvement through refinement
- Base weapon damage is increased/level
- Armor amount is increased/level
- Skill level can be increased/level for items that grant or increase skills
- Any fixed (non-random) secondary bonus can be increased/level
- Basic crafting
- Workbench, forge, & anvil as workstations
- Recipes for each of the basic weapon types
