[ The Full Version of Deep Dark Wrath is finally available for you to experience and explore! ]

https://craftedcircuitry.itch.io/deep-dark-wrath#purchase

This sticky thread will solely be for placing the Changelogs and Other Important Information about the Game. And, if you have some quick feedback but don’t want to make a new Thread, you can also place them down in the comments below. Feedback and bug reports are still greatly appreciated to perfect this game.

[ Moving Save Backups between PC and Android ]

While not the most elegant solution, this allows you to more easily access, save and move the save backups between the PC version, other PCs, and Android version of Deep Dark Wrath.

  • On the source device’s Deep Dark Wrath, Press the Green Bookmark Save Backup Button to write the Save Backups onto the System Downloads folder.
  • Move the DeepDarkWrath_savebackup.txt and DeepDarkWrath_optionsbackup.cfg from the source device’s System Downloads folder to the destination device’s System Downloads folder, either via online or wired means.
  • Open the destination device’s Deep Dark Wrath.
  • Go to the Save Journal and Press the Red Bookmark Load Backup Button.
  • Accept the Prompted Instructions using Mouse/Touch Controls (this will not overwrite your save yet).
  • Saving the Game will overwrite the save you have with the Loaded Backup.

Note: Not all features will be saved as each device may have version exclusive mechanics.

  • With v1.2.0, Sword Skinning becomes available. However with no way of accessing the Android’s inner file system to insert your own Sword Skins, the Android version has version exclusive skins for Adventurers to choose from. On PC, you can access and insert your own Sword Skins to the system files of Deep Dark Wrath. As such, Sword Skins will not be able to moved between PC and Android at this point in time.
  • Similarly, Android also has exclusive Armor Trims.

[ Adding Sword Skins and Armor Trims ]

With v1.2.0, Sword Skinning becomes an available mechanic, and with v2.9.8, placing Armor Trims becomes available. Using the DDW_SwordSkin_Template.psd and the DDW_ArmorTrim_Template.psd, you can make your own Sword Skins and Armor Trims.

To apply them to the game:

  • Go to the file location - %appdata%/CraftedCircuitry/Deep Dark Wrath/mods
  • Place the PNGs you made in there and it should show up once you start up the game.

[ Linux Version ]

Because of the Proton compatibility layer, the previous updates (v2.9.9) use a different location for the files of Deep Dark Wrath

Previous Proton Main Save Folder [ .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2891520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/CraftedCircuitry ]

Previous Proton Downloads Folder [ .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2891520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Downloads ]

As of v3.0+, the Linux version will now properly use the native Linux’s folder system, the local share files, and the native Downloads Folder for better ease of use

Native Main Save Folder [ .local/share/CraftedCircuitry ]

Native Downloads Folder [ ~/Downloads ]

Save File Mechanic to Move Save from Proton to Native Downloads

To seamlessly move your save file from the Proton layer to the Native Downloads Backup:

  • Boot up Deep Dark Wrath. Don’t be alarmed that there is no save file yet.
  • Make sure to not move too much and stay in the Square underneath the Deep Dark Wrath logo.
  • Press and Hold the Standard Attack Button [ LMB / J / Triangle on PS / Y on Xbox ].
  • After holding it, you will be prompted to continue holding to move the save to the Native Downloads Folder.
  • Keep holding it to confirm you will be moving your save.
  • Once the operation is complete, go to the Save Journal at the Campfire, and Load the Backup. Save your Game and now the Save you had before is now successfully moved from the Proton layer to the native Linux folders.

Steam Deck Setup

Running the Steam Deck with a 45-50 FPS Cap Limit and 5W TDP will maximize the battery life of your device, while still keeping a relatively smooth gameplay experience. Turning On Half-Rate Shading also helps battery life for almost no degradation in quality.

  • Lowering the Settings will further degrade performance, the absolute limit is with a 24 FPS Cap Limit at 4W TDP.

The game can be stuttery at the start of the first run, but will slowly smoothen out as the run plays on, as it is loading the enemies and areas as you play. A recommended setting to tweak is the Manual GPU Clock, going for lower speeds like 1000 and below can stabilize performance quicker.

Running the Steam Deck higher than 60 FPS Cap Limit and 8W TDP won’t have a big impact on performance.

[ Uninstall Deep Dark Wrath ]

To fully uninstall and remove Deep Dark Wrath, make sure to check your System’s Downloads Folder for the files [ DeepDarkWrath_savebackup.txt and DeepDarkWrath_optionsbackup.cfg ] as those are your backup save files.

For the files used by the game, check [ %appdata%/CraftedCircuitry/Deep Dark Wrath/ ] and make sure to delete them as well. You can safely remove the Deep Dark Wrath and CraftedCircuitry folders(if you don’t have other games using this folder). The Android Version should be able to remove these game files upon Uninstallation.
