Heya!

First, I think it's awesome that we have so much lgbtq representation. When I found out one of the characters was a trans woman I immediately bought it so I could play with her. It is amazing and I feel it was (mostly) treated with a lot of respect.

However, the first nsfw scene for her was somewhat upsetting for me, as a mtf trans individual. Particularly the word 'girldick'. This is a word that had been used to refer to me by chasers who wanted to date me, not because of me, but because they fetishized dating a trans woman. I do understand that it's a fetish game, but if that's what her dating thing is meant to be I would really appreciate a stronger content warning about that. When I saw mention of dicks, I just assumed 'oh theyll use dildos or something'.

Note, I am not saying it was upsetting she was pre op. Plenty of trans people are pre op. I just don't like how she was treated in the scene. That is all.

Because I said this though, I ADORE the music, and the character sprites are awesome too. I love when the main character is slightly angry, its an adorable expression.

Hi there, thanks for writing and letting us know you're enjoying so much of the story.

After reading your topic, we went through and checked to see what kind of language we used for the scene described, and after searching through the whole VN's code, we couldn't find any use of the term you mentioned throughout the story. There is the use of "dick" to refer to refer to a female character's penis (which is the case with two characters) but not the specific word you mentioned. Is "dick" on its own part of what's troubling or is that specific spin on it that you think is worth flagging as fetishizing?

'Dick' itself isn't bad!

The word used was 'girldick'. I can pull it up. If they just said dick honestly it would probably be fine? Girldick just has harmful connotations because it is specified it is a dick, on a girl, and would be assumed that it's part of the attraction. The word 'dick' itself does not carry this second meaning. It's just not a neat phrase to say to a trans woman. They know they are a girl and they know they have a dick. Just because they are pre op doesn't mean it needs to be discussed.

I'll grab a screenshot, will attach in another reply.

Edit for more clarity

this is why you couldn't find it, mb, i was disquieted about the inclusion and had forgotten the word

Girlcock

I'm going to go a bit more in depth so I am perfectly clear, I don't want to seem like I'm getting worked up over nothing.

When people fetishize a trans woman, they do so by drawing attention to that they are a girl who used to be a man. Obviously, another character is this. It's easier for me to dissasociate there, though, because it is magical tea that has the magical effect of making them a girl. This is a real thing, that has happened in my real life, and has made me deeply uncomfortable as a result. The wording is fine because I'm sure people are into it. I just would have wanted a content warning.

For an equivelant, its like how people say "I want an oriental girlfriend". Its not about you. Its about their fetish, projected onto you. This is, of course, a fetish game. Having fetishes in the game is natural. This one was just really real, for me, and has affected a lot of things in my life up to this point, with friendships, relationships, and my mental state as a whole. I really hate this term. I have so many negative associations with both it and people saying im a trap or im crossdressing, but im not, i was born in the wrong body. I obviously dont expect a game about fetishes to want to discourage people with fetishes, I would just like a content warning if others like me come here.

Thank you. <3

That reaction to the term comes as a bit of a surprise to us since a lot of our trans fanbase seems quite enamored with the word and is enjoyed by some of the trans development team. Of course there's definitely going to be differing reactions to terms, which is why we steered clear of the other terms you mentioned, which seem to be a lot more consensus around their hurtfulness.

But we can't dictate your history and reaction to the word, so we're sorry it interfered with your enjoyment of the story. I checked through the code and found two instances and they're really not all that pointed, so deleting two words probably shouldn't make all that much difference. You'll see the difference in the next update.

huh.

Yeah, it probably does come down to personal experience then I suppose. I do appreciate the response, though. Thank you. I wish you, and the rest of the team, all the best. I know I've said this a lot but I didn't mean hostility, too, it just upset me.

I hope you have wonderful respective days <3
