Several months later... and nothing on our end to show for it. Until now.

Respectfully, it has been a little over half a year since the last community update. Blade & Blunt is nearly at 400 downloads, which I am very happy to report. Truth be told, I have been banging my head against the wall since the last update, while I have been able to fix grammatical errors here and there, my limiting factor as the sole developer of this system is one word: Money.

While I am able to buy premade clip art and dungeon maps for future projects, such as modules, the legal implications of any future actions I may take using these art sets are dubious at best. Even with express permission and agreeing to terms from freelance artists, I would prefer to keep within good standing among everyone as far as modifying or using bought assets go. Therefore, I have been stagnant. With little effective budget for a free project I present, and being gridlocked in effectively going forward, despite my continuing desires, I have been unable to progress.

Fast forward and I'm dawned upon a sudden realization. While I practice mapping dungeons and art of my own, it is largely limited to sketch art using ink. I have worked in digital before and to solid effect, but I found it lacking in personal style. Additionally, due to hardware issues, I have been unable to continue digital design work. However, it very recently dawned upon me that it would be possible to edit and or scan my own illustrations for continuing work on this system. Therefore, the last couple of days I have been at work, ink sketching dozens of art samples.

What for? You may ask. Good question. My next move, and hopefully in the very near future, will be to release dozens of art assets for Blade & Blunt, primarily for the item cards. I am roughly halfway through my work and have much more to go. With this recent seizing of effect, I plan to rework and begin working on several parts of Blade & Blunt.

I will admit, several of these plans do include minor revisions on the core system, such as adding and removing certain parts of the mechanics, as well as revising and clarifying others. While I may personally try to keep errata infrequent, as I do not enjoy content being constantly changed, I must admit; while the system itself is largely finished, it can (and will) be improved! Should my current experiment succeed, the coming days will be rife with road mapping, solid revisions and free content.

Thank you for your time, patience and interest.    - J. Gray

I should mention, the item cards provided will additionally be compatible with other item card systems, i.e. Mausritter and will be completely free!
