When trying to link things in a sequence, like body, neck, head, hair, etc. I adjust the origin point so that everything rotates in a "normal" way. But when I link parts to that adjusted part it moves the layer from it's original position. Is there any way to avoid that? It's really hard to put things back exactly where they were before. 

I found you need to link it in a specific order. If you have like, a hand, upper arm, forearm, and body, the order is would be:

Hand links to forearm > Forearm links to upper arm > Upper arm links to body

Im not sure if this is the same thing youre referring to, but if I do anything that deviates from this specific order the layer gets shifted around
