I've been trying to get wood, but i can't manage to get it, making it so i can't explore certain areas, any ideas on where to get it? I got shells by drilling, so i have acess to water, but i can't get the material to into lava, nor the material to go into mountains.

You get different materials depending on the tile you drill on. You get wood from forrest tiles to the east of the spawn point.

What @Gaaron1234 said is true, although the best way to get materials imo is to hit a bunch of enemy tiles, kill everything there, and then finish the run. Preferably with a multiplier of some kind. MAD STONKS!
