Holy guacamole a lot has changed since I last made an update here. Though I'm currently reworking some fundamental aspects of the gameplay, things are starting to shape up and the game is still on track for completion by next winter.

As of right now, I'm planning on having the game be played in a static first person view (similar to point and click games) and also an isometric 45 degree angle view, like games made with RPG maker. The first person aspects can be seen below.

I've started making a world map and I've also started writing some lore for the world. Additionally, within the next couple weeks, I'm going to be implementing playable characters. These characters are subject to change but as of right now they include: A generic male, a generic female, and a snail (if the player doesn't want to be assigned a gender binary character, they can play as a snail).

These characters will only be visible in parts of the game that are viewed in isometrics. As for the designs, I'm pretty excited. I'm going to be setting up a green screen and using my body for the generic male's animations. I'm trying to get my girlfriend to help me with the "generic female" animations but that's still up in the air. As for the snail, maybe I'll render one in blender or maybe I'll get lucky and find one on the ground or something.

Another cool thing to note: I've decided that I'm going to base a lot of the lore on concepts related to alchemy and esotericism. I have a wild imagination so I'll probably just make up with a bunch of crazy shit that aligns with these two subjects.

I'd also like to add that I'm very appreciative of everyone who's out there supporting me in my endeavors. I'd also like to thank a couple other artists for helping out with the soundtrack!

Anyways, thanks for reading. I'll be back soon.
