I decided to go the bull route, the first quest i spared the spy, i sided with the bulls on everything after that but after using the catapult bomb i can't get anything else to progress. am i missing something?  

See when u use place the bomb and it blows up, go and meet nauxus in his house the next day. After that go and meet Axel. If u r waiting for the festival part then it will take a lot days to actually trigger itself. I had to skip 10 days just to start that festival quest. In the due time you can do other mission like saving the master.
