I'm on version 12.4 of OSX monteray with an apple M1 macbook air, memory 8 gb, using a ps4 controller.  I tried both bluetooth and plugged in. I can't seem to find the settings for controls (if there are any), nor the settings file within the game itself that might enable my controller. It just doesn't seem to work

Sorry to hear it's not working. It should work when connected with cable, but I haven't tried it on the new macbooks, it might be that there is something that changed in macos. Does the controller work with other games when plugged in with a cable? Do you have any other devices plugged into your computer at the same time? Maybe try with only the controller attached?

It works with celeste, both with bluetooth and cable. I've tried both bluetooth and cable with Future Unfolding but unfortunately neither work :c. I've plugged it in both before and after booting up the game, and I've restarted my computer as well as made sure the game is up to date.
