I will have to give this game a 4-Star rating, considering it's a super early version of the game.

For me the game page looked really promising so I had to give it a try. My first impression when I entered the tutorial was, "it's just going to be one of these games". It felt somewhat clunky and just didn't look that great to be honest. The Tutorial itself is like how you just expect a tutorial, the only thing I have to say on the tutorial is the fireballs section where this game is introducing you to having invulnerability on dodges, you can pretty much just crouch under the first section and jump over the other two, so technically you don't need to use the Dodge function there. After finishing the tutorial like the good player I am (GUYS FINISH THE GODAMN TUTORIAL), we jumped right into the action and everything looked a lot better already.

First thing that came into my mind when I ran into the boss room was R.I.P. my ears, but was easily fixed by just turning down the volume, was just a little bit surprised. The Second thing that came to my mind was, the boss room looks pretty cool. So, fighting the boss was astounding and I was actually somewhat stunned, It took me around 10-15 attempts to become familiar with the mechanics. Most people might think damn that must be frustrating dying already that many times on the first demo boss, but it was most likely intended that way. Figure out the mechanics to then refine your own actions. For the mechanics I think I counted around 6 Mechanics (the regular Smash, the Ranged sphere, The teleportation, The double air slash and the Orb destruction mechanic) Learning them all felt really rewarding except for the Regular smash attack that dealt an insane amount of damage and for me personally was way too fast for me to react. Every time I got more familiar with the Mechanics and managed to not get hit that often i got a bit of a dopamine rush, it felt insanely rewarding. I don't want to by no means compare it to a great game title like Elden Ring, but that's the only game in my mind right now that triggered the exact same rewarding feeling I got after learning the mechanics of a boss, even tho I was dying countless times I wanted to get better and beat the boss. After an hour, i finally managed to beat the boss, and it felt nice.

So overall, The developer made a good job in implementing mechanics to a boss fight. For example the Orb destruction mechanic that almost completely kills you when not being able to do it, is not found in many games, in my head I can only think of lost ark right now. Obviously this game needs a lot of work and fixes, it sometimes happened that the boss  ran out from the platform and had a hard time finding back, but I already expected that I'm not going to be playing a top flawless game, I mean it's a free demo on itch.io. So this Review rating is mainly based on that.

I want to say to the developer, good job doing a game like this in such a short period of time, I will be having it in my collection, and I'm looking forward to updates.

Yours sincerely

The godfather Archerry.

Developer

Hello Archerry,

First of i'd like to thank you for purchasing the game and playing it through till the end! This review means the world to me and you absolutely nailed it with the comment about what the game is in nature "Figure out the mechanics to then refine your own actions". This is the premise i wish to follow for not only this boss fight, but also any future boss fights I will develop for this game. My intended gameplay up until the next bosses is more of a relaxed, grindy, feel good hack n slash. Where as the bosses are there to truely test your skill, hone your mechanics and in the future optimize your builds. I hope that will suit your taste as well!

I will do my very best to address as many of the issues possible that you've mentioned in the comming patches and I hope to see you back again then!

As always if you ever encounter anything else, feel free to let me know and i will get to it as fast as possible 馃憤.
