Hi!

Thanks for checking out this project. Since the demo is currently in pretty much an unplayable state at the moment, I think it makes sense to talk a bit about what the project is.

⦁ A dream project. I've wanted to make a roguelike forever, and now I'm taking the leap! I'll share more about what sort of roguelike soon, as right now the released demo is very much a jumping off point.

⦁ Not a quick development. I don't know how long I will work on this, but I've set it up to chip away at over the next several years (and maybe longer), doing big and small updates when I have more and less time to work on it.

⦁ No set goal. I have hundreds of ideas of what this game could be, and in the past this has made it hard to start this game. I have a solid idea at the moment of features and concepts I want in the game, and pretty sure on the theming right now. However, it could go many different ways and I'm excited to explore that and see what happens. The game might go through stages of being bloated and lacking focus, but roguelikes can be lots of things and I can remove unnecessary features eventually when the time comes.

⦁ Big changes. I might end up changing engines at some point, as already learnt so much about making this in GM 1.4. Right now the game is in ascii, and I'm working on importing tile sets if you prefer basic sprites, but the art style isn't locked in yet.

I'm not sure how I'll update these posts as we go, but it's fun to talk about my goals for the project and make some waypoints on it's process as I go. Thank you for reading!
