Not really. I thought it would affect different 'endings' with different girls like a dating element but I didn't go through fully with it. I just happen to left it, just like I had created other continents but there is nothing to do because only the world map was developed somewhat more, but no towns to go inside. I was aiming too big, so I ended up thinking of reducing the scope but leaving the stuff there anyway.
