Below is a list of commonly asked questions about the game. Please be sure your question is not answered here before starting a new discussion.

What platforms is the game supported on?

The game is available on Windows, macOS and Linux (SteamOS). Please note that the Linux version is currently only tested on the Steam Deck. Other distros may work, but otherwise we suggest using Steams compatibility tool (Proton) if you have issues.

Will it run on macOS [Version]? What about Windows 11?

Legends of Astravia supports 64-bit operating systems, and will run on Apple Silicon as well. Windows 11 has been tested, and the game runs happily there as well.

Will the game be available on Nintendo Switch / Xbox / Playstation?

Currently, the game is only due to release on Windows, macOS and Linux.

That said, if the game gets enough funding and support by the time the second half is completed, porting to consoles can happen, too.

Can I continue the full game with my save file from the demo?

The current demo starts partway through the game, so unfortunately the save data will not be transferable.

When will the game be done?

The projected release for “Part 1” is Q1 2025. “Part 2” is TBD.

How much will it cost?

The game’s price is TBD.

Is the game episodic?

The game isn’t episodic, but its overarching story will be delivered in exactly two parts. This is because the world and scope of the story is far too large to fit in a single game, especially for a tiny indie developer! We promise that each installment will be a full game experience and will not feel incomplete or unfinished.

Why not release the whole game at once instead of in two parts?

Due to restrictions in both development time and budget, it is not feasible to release a game at this scale all at once without taking a very long time. Splitting the game into two parts allows folks to enjoy the game much sooner.

Can I stream or record the game?

Of course! If you do stream the game or make a video, I would love to see it. Feel free to post Let's Play videos here, or on Discord.

Will the game be in other languages?

It is a very important goal to have Legends of Astravia available in various languages. However development resources are limited, and so only English may be available when the game is initially released, and Japanese shortly after.

Can I help translate / localize the game to [language]?

Translation for languages other than Japanese probably will not be considered until the game’s completion, even if offered for free, as the process to integrate is too arduous and takes away from the game’s development.
