it seem to crash for me on Android also the app file for newer version doesn't want to install
Try deleting the old version and installing the new one. Also, make sure you have enough drive space left on the device.

Restarting the device can help.Which version of Android are you on? You might need to upgrade to the latest.
Where are the save files? I had to uninstall the Android version to install the update. I'd have preferred to back up the save files rather than restart from the beginning.
