"Petition of Red Lanterns"

Passed the first level and I want to say. Whoever thought it was a good idea to platform jump with lanterns over an abyss in a row, tell me how to do them normally.

I'm certainly not the best platform player, but when this "Jump King" mini-parody takes me 20 times more attempts than the Final Boss of the same level, in my opinion it's crazy.

So...

So I decided to try to get the opinion of others, maybe i'm just really bad, or maybe ask for a review of the Red Lantern mechanics - Make the hitbox bigger / Give an extra jump no matter how you hit the lantern (If you don’t hit the timing, even if you hit the lantern you won’t be thrown) / use the Lanterns as a fast Elevator (When using them you just need to climb), and replace the gaps with something else.

Good luck to everyone else going through this. (The guys who passed the beta test are just monsters, if these lamps did not make them doubt anything and tell the developer, then just my respect)

When you have to jump perfectly AND hit a tiny ass lantern perfectly AND hold the right input to actually go past an abyss, hell no. The beta testers were clearly a statistical anomaly and should not have been the baseline for that section of the level. Didn't even get to the boss because of it

You don't need perfect jumps though, additionally the only inputs you have to hold after jumping is down and forward. After that just hit the light attack button in a rhythm (obviously there are some parts where you'd need a heavy attack and hold jump as well, but once you've got a hang for the 'light attack lantern jumps' it should be pretty easy.

I honestly disagree, I think the game is fine as is. You just need a few minutes to study the lanterns(took me around 2-3 mins to get a hang of it). Most of the jumps were designed to be hit by simply forward jumping and hitting the down+light attack in a rhythm. The lantern parkour at the end of the timed section was probably the 'worst' I'd say but like every other lantern part in the game, it's just about getting a rhythm, just get a feel for it you know?

Also comparing the boss to the lanterns doesn't really say anything. Saying the boss was too easy is an understatement, she only had one attack which can be dodged by JUST walking.
