I do think this executes the prompt well, albeit differently than I would have, but well nonetheless. One thing I do want to mention is that none of your walls actually block the player from moving, and if you skip a key, there's no way to go back and get it. But a fun game anyways.

1) I don't know that nostalgia is the right term, but it did evoke a certain serenity/calmness.
2) I would say so. The colorful backgrounds, while I had no idea what most of them were, really lended themselves to telling an interesting story. The limited movement was also really good at forcing the player to focus on the dialogue and item descriptions.
1) Since I read the description, I could tell that the color changing was supposed to be the passage of time, but I don't think I would have if I didn't. I would try to add some other sort of visual indicator, like a clock, that shows it as well.
2) I think the thinner road is actually perfect for a game like this. Just because you have the whole screen to move doesn't mean that you have to use it, and sometimes limiting player movement is a good thing.
