I think that maybe a larger map, slower character and enemies, and longer day and nights would make it a little bit more disorienting and would enhance the unnerving sensation.
Maybe making the "harmless" version of the deer a little bit faster and give him random movement, and totally random while the character is in the house to prevent some kind of softlock would make it blend more with the unexpected scary vibes of the enemies.
And the last thing that I feel in my (not so long) time playing it, is that some kind of hostility between the enemies could be great, like... the well monster and Larry the skincrawler or something like that.
I'm willing to see this game grew, and hope that you find and least one of the things I commented useful ^^
