A hilarious and entertaining entry!

  • The Good: The theme is absolutely hilarious, and I loved the intro style. Also, 10/10 for the "very serious" lore! ;)
  • Combat Feedback: The attacks could use a bit more visual feedback to clearly show their range and give the impacts some extra "oomph."
  • Control Tweaks: Grabbing ladders can be a bit finicky since it only registers exactly when the button is pressed. It would feel much smoother if you could just hold the button down beforehand to automatically grab on.
  • Level Boundaries: The black background sections look like out-of-bounds areas, but some of them seem to be missing collision setups, which can cause you to fall through.
  • Audio: I noticed there is music, but it cuts out after about a minute! Fixing the music loop and adding a few sound effects would massively elevate the whole experience.

Overall, a super fun concept with a lot of potential. Great job!

A simple, charming game!

  • The Good: Really nice overall art style and a clean, straightforward concept.
  • The Feedback: The visual distinction between the chess pieces could be clearer—it's a bit hard to tell them apart at a quick glance.
  • The Gameplay: Since I’m playing solo and this is strictly a two-player game, I couldn't test the mechanics against an opponent to rate them fairly.

I can definitely see the potential for a fun head-to-head match, though. Great work!

Overall: Really impressive progress for a game jam!

Pros:

  • Super cute art style!
  • Unique spinning top combat mechanics.

Neutral:

  • The lore was okay (perfectly fine for a jam game).

Cons:

  • The gameplay was incredibly frustrating for me. However, this might just be my own skill level, or it might just be the intended chaotic nature of spinning top physics!

Great job to the devs!
