That's a good point! I'll probably end up remaking the intro scene to better set player expectations, once the overall presentation is finalized.
The MC can be male or female, player choice, and is the focus of the second update (the first update focuses on Esther). You could definitely describe the female MC's branch as a yuri VN.
In terms of what this'll be, it's a parody fantasy VN made of parts presented in a handful of different visual styles and genres.
Part II (first update) will be an adventure mystery. Here's a very early sample:
MC's chapters will follow the formula of a more standard bishoujo/yuri VN, and Eva's chapters will present as a hybrid 16-bit 2.5D RPG (I'm really looking forward to making that part, the 3D staging functionality in ren'py is super cool and doesn't seem to get used all that often).
