Is it possible to make animated sprites using this toolkit you are providing? If not, is it feasibly possible to edit the code to make that possible?

gonna try and get this resolved as soon as possible

sorry for the late reply... will try to get it sorted as soon as possible, for some reason can't update the downloadable files atm, Have sent a post on the jam page and plan to get help from the jam coordinators

was informed that the windows version of my prototype doesn't work without certain files and need to upload the version with said files, however uploads are disabled due to the rating period... should I just submit another game page for the windows version?

dev note: this game has very bad level design i cobbled together late at night so sorry if it is too frustrating

you are absolutely correct. I did want to add more to the game, but simply was busy with other priorities and also didn't quite know how to progress with the project. I appreciate you testing it regardless

Hopefully I complete a game for it to be properly tested and marked

In the jam scope, it states that: " You will collaborate with others as if you are an Art Director of a video game". Just to clarify, does this mean we will need find people to work with or is it that we will be show casing our work to others to get some criticism, advice or peer review from other people

Currently have my project set to Draft, but wanted to ask if we need to make it public so that people can play it, or if we can keep it drafted but have our devlog Public

Fun way I thought I could record my game dev process would be to Stream my development and progress during the duration of the Jam. Just wanted to make sure there are no regulations (besides maybe TOS on twitch and Itch) I should be aware of for this jam

understood, thank you so much

I have a mechanic that I developed for a separate project a long while ago which I think I can use in the game, however the rules do state that development should start at the beginning of the Jam. Just want to make sure it is okay to use part of a separate project to contribute to this jam despite it not necessarily having been developed during the jam perio

I figured that its should be fine, but just wanted to make sure as to not accidentally break the rules of this jam

Hey, wanted to check out the discord server to get more information about the up comming retro horror jam, but noticed the discord link was expired, anywhere I can search for the discord?

honestly kinda terrifying

I ask this because it doesn't specify in the rules or description of the jam, and I am slightly dense

just to be sure this won't be against guide lines... are we allowed to send prototypes of our game to some people to test for any bugs or issue before we launch our games?

(1 edit)

might want to switch this to be able to play in browers if you can.

the videos below should help

Ah, I thought it had to be made within the time period of the game jam

I know that we are not suppose to do any sort of development on the game, whether it be for assets, programing or building of the game, but I wanted to ask if we were allowed to at least do some planning, conceptulizing, and research for this project so that we can come prepared for the jam. Might sounds slightly ridiculous, but thought it would be good to plan for some potential mechanics and see what we would like to make for the game.
