Just finished playing it with a couple of friends. Overall a very fun concept and an interesting experience. As for more critical feedback a few point came up:

- it wasn't clear enough how much any given player is allowed to push the investigation forward as none but Elder can possibly solve it,

- some kind of prompt for wrapping things up could help avoid the feeling of an investigation that goes in circles as it was fairly easy to fall into that kind of pattern as we build up clues, suspects, connections, etc. but can't actually progress the investigation,

- prompts for what kind of thing or change a player can introduce would be amazing as a way to lessen the cognitive load on participants,

- and the most important bit of feedback, repeated by everyone: the game doesn't feature enough interaction between players. I understand it's supposed to be merely contact through time, echoes, etc.but that ultimately made the experience quite isolating, at times lifeless. Perhaps expanding from just single player narrations to showing uncovered stuff through scenes where players act as different characters in the story could alleviate that issue.

There's an error in 'The Situation' section:

"Standing always can always be used"
(Just reading the game right now, I'll give it a review once I'm done ^^')

That's greatly appreciated 'cause just like with, let's say, 'Dogs in the Vineyard' there's only so much shared storytelling you can do while playing the transparent (even reluctant) bad guys before it gets really uncomfortable. Not to mention how any open recruitment for it can attract the exact wrong kind of crowd ^^' So yeah, thank you for this version, I'll buy it as soon as I can :)

Wait is this... this is building off of Wardens of the Iron Garden! I remember it from the days of FitD Google+ community - it's brilliant to find this version after all this time

Hey, I have a small rules question: the text says that the modifier derived from stats is "added to the roll". If that means we add it to the die result then with minimum of +1 modifier in a stat (so at least 2 in the stat itself) we would never get a disastrous result that lowers a stat. This feels in contrast to the ruthless the game advises GM to show.

Did I misunderstand the rules? I'm about to run the game for some mates of mine on Monday and with a game this short I'd feel bad messing up the rules ^^'

I'm always on the lookout for RPG designed to tackle issues with PbP play format. I'll try to get a game of this going soon and put in my review then ^^

Thanks for making this!

Sincerely,

A shaniac
