Um... Let's not go there, don't be that person who starts unnecessary crap.

when I enter any scene I get a error that reads couldn't read width of "null"

i  transferred my save from  Beta 1.1.2

Once you have made them go outside you should see a couple of interact points you can build them there

The water basin gives you water "I think it only does it if it has rained"

 And the garden can only be used in the morning. and every 3 days it will give you food. make sure you water it if it's not raining...
