Niven my good sir, why do you always release games when I'm either sick or recovering from something lmao
I promise I'll record this in a couple days hahaha
I really love the art style in this game, it's really nice to look at. Audio design was pretty good as well and I love that there were no tutorials or clear objectives, making the player figure out what to do by themselves. Really interesting overall and definitely made me intrigued for what the next chapter might bring to the table. Great job dev(s)!
I genuinely love that monster design and the way it moves around, really bizarre and cool looking. The candle also looks really nice though honestly I couldn't tell if it was actually providing me any light or not, the vents in particular were very dark (and quite glitchy, see 11:54). I was also a tad too sleep deprived to figure out the actual story but despite that, I did enjoy the game and how you implemented both chases and stealth sequences. Very nice game overall.
This was really fun to play, specially since I'm a bit of a biology nerd. I also just love it when horror games have multiple endings and I love it even more when one of those endings is to just leave immediately, that always cracks me up. Only thing I wish was a bit different would be for the samples to be random, but it's fine as it is right now. Overall, great horror experience with some humor sprinkled on top and I'll definitely be coming back to this to try and get the other endings.
The sound design in this is so damn good that I was scared and tense without needing any jumpscares or spooky things to happen, the noises alone were enough and that is the mark of a truly good horror game. Seriously, well done. Also having the gameplay revolve around typing commands on different terminals is really cool and quite unique, I've seen other games use terminals like this but not as the main mechanic of the game. Overall, really solid horror experience, great job devs!
Not particularly scary honestly, it could have been but I think the pacing of the game was way too fast to actually build up any sort of tension. Which wasn't helped by how quickly the dialogue messages went by. With some tweaks I think this could be much spookier than it currently is. Not bad overall but not great either basically. Your game is the last one on my video and starts at 24:16
Really nice demo, I really like how the atmosphere got progressively more creepy and without the need for any obnoxious jumpscares. Nice audio design as well. And I gotta say, I love that the ''creepy monster'' was in fact a chair. Definitely will be keeping an eye out for the full game so I can get my revenge on that chair. Your game is the second one on my video and starts at 12:39
I loved this, such a simple concept but executed flawlessly. Never even considered the idea of having a game where you have to draw salt lines to protect yourself but I absolutely love it. The visuals are also great, I love how vibrant the colors were in the dungeon area. And those things in the forest were super creepy. Very well done, I was actually sad when I reached the end of the demo. Keep up the great work! Your game is the first one on my video
Honestly this was more funny than it was scary and there's a couple things that really need some tweaks. Having a settings menu would've been great and also, subtitles really are needed for the calls cause some parts were a bit hard to understand for me. Other than that, I do enjoy doing the tasks around the diner though I think it lacks some ambiance to make it actually scary.
You guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite devs here on itch, Coagulation Station was great and this one here is just super fun. I love being able to blast everything to bits. Kind of reminds me of World War Z with the way the zombies are extremely fast and somewhat smart and I really like it. Can't wait to see what other updates this demo gets and definitely will be playing the full version once it's out. Keep up the amazing work guys!
Okay so this is really good and scary and I go a bit more in depth around the last 10 minutes of my video but here are my first thoughts:
- Please bring back the timer, maybe just for the periods in which the lights are on, because having that timer there really adds a lot more sense of urgency.
- The thing completely vanishing when the lights go back on kinda breaks the immersion a lot so I would simply leave it there instead.
- I also think the thing should be a little bit faster and capable of listening to all the noises the player makes (in fact, if there is eventually in game voice, the thing being able to hear the player speak could be really terrifying)
Those are really the only things that I think need to be tweaked slightly because other than that, the game was terrifying. It's less panic inducing now though, although it is still really tense. You guys are doing great though, seriously, so keep up the amazing work!
I always enjoy it when a game takes heavy topics and turns it into horror, I just think it opens up a lot different ways to express those topics in creative ways. Having an elevator ride guide the player through the different traumas the main character has endured is a really cool idea and I love the visual style you went for, it feels retro but it's obviously very polished and pleasing to look at. The voices also being staticky is also a really nice touch. Overall, a great short horror game, good job to everyone who worked on this!
This is so cool, I'm definitely hooked already. Also super impressive that this is being worked one by just two devs, congrats to you both cause this is super well made. Very spooky and disturbing with literally zero jumpscares, the atmosphere itself is simply tense and I've never been so terrified listening to tapes as I've been in this game. I'll definitely be keeping an eye for the full release, keep up the great work guys!
I remember having loved Scanner Sombre and Lidar.EXE back when those came out and this was even better than what I had been expecting. I was just absolutely beautiful, first with all the colors and then with the representation of an abandoned city (though I might be a tad biased cause I love abandoned things). Some people might feel uneasy when playing this but I was just speechless with how gorgeous everything was and with how satisfying it is to explore in this game. Getting to the end of the demo made me genuinely kind of sad and I can't wait for the full game to come out, keep up the amazing work!
Very interesting but I get the feeling that people prone to motion sickness would probably struggle with this one. I really liked the concept behind it though and this is quite well done for something made in just one week. And, it definitely made me feel like I was on drugs lol, which I'm guessing was intentional. Props to you for your creativity! Your game is the last one on my video and it starts at 34:33
I absolutely love how this was made in stop motion and it makes me wish there were more horror games with that style of animation, I just think there's something inherently disturbing or unsettling to it. And, while this game was relatively simple in terms of gameplay and also quite short, I very much enjoyed solving the mystery of the clay doll. I definitely need more archaeology horror games. Really great game overall, made me wish it was longer. Your game is the third one on my video and starts at 24:42
Very interesting demo though maybe a bit too fast paced in relation to the jumpscares. Kind of felt like the game was just throwing random scares at me (though they did scare me so maybe you're doing it right after all lol). The ambiance was really nice though, hearing random noises around the house really had me on edge. Obviously, having a gun in a horror game is always a great thing but my goodness please add something to let the player know where they're aiming at. Really cool demo overall and with some tweaks it can be even better. Your game is the second one on my video and starts at 13:55
Interesting demo though why the heck did a wolf/dog just jump randomly through the window? That and some other things really didn't make too much sense to me, like the apparent familiarity that the main character had with the lady at the reception since, from what I understood, Allison would've been at that motel for the first time in her life and therefore, not know anyone. Only other thing I'd tweak would be to add a settings menu. This has potential and I like how it looks but there's always room for improvement. Your game is the first one on my video.
Fantastic game though I still have one ending left to try and find. This game had me intrigued and at the edge of my seat, in full detective mode, the entire time. It was super fun to slowly figure out everything that happened to each character and I'm curious to see what the second ending is hiding. Only thing I'll say is there needs to be a warning when the game starts up for people prone to motion sickness, either that or the option to disable that wooziness in one of Carl's sections. Besides that, really cool game, you did a great job with it and I can't wait to come back to it and try to uncover the last few secrets that I'm missing.
Somehow playing through the demo again scared me more than the first time! I went into it a second time to get enough money to get the crowbar and wow, I must say I was not expecting everything that came afterwards. I'm not entirely sure I'll have enough money to spare to buy this game when it comes out tomorrow but I'm definitely making sure I'll play the full version eventually cause this was truly really well made and full to play.
Despite my hatred of dolls, this game was awesome. I mention this in my video but I truly love how unpredictable everything is, I played through the first shift twice and I can definitely confirm each playthrough will indeed be different, so well done. I also tried to grind for the crowbar but I had limited time so I didn't manage to get it (though I got close!). Only thing I think needs to be tweaked slightly is the damage on the clothes when the clothes are grey, cause the color of the damage also being grey can be really difficult to spot. Besides that, this was a great demo!
This was really cool, I love how detailed all the environment are and the retro visuals are very nice. Fascinating story that genuinely left me wanting more of this weird universe the game is set in, I feel like a horror game set in the industries or the flooded mine (kinda in the style of Chernobyl Liquidators) would work really well just due to the creepy and unsettling atmosphere of having the unknown as the fear factor. Seriously, great job! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any new games from you!
This is easily one of the scariest (and most disturbing) games you've made yet. Props to you for making an unsettling experience while mostly in broad daylight, which is no easy thing to do. The somewhat more subtle story telling also worked really well here, though maybe a little too well since I spent ages looking for one of the notes but whatever XD. Really great job mate and I apologize again for butchering your name (again).
I personally didn't think it was particularly scary but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I like how the MacDonald guy is just some regular dude and turns out to not be the villain, although the villain was kind of easy to predict considering how poorly that guy parked his car. Now, two things that would make this a relatively better experience would be to have the ability to sprint and to be able to tweak the sensitivity settings. I only got one ending cause that's what I had time for when I recorded this but it was quite fun to play.
Very nice example of subtle horror, the kind that makes the player unsettled and yet forces them to lower their guard. The small subtle changes to the environment, with the notes and shadows in the woods, combined with the vague and ominous dialogue with some of the drivers really built a spooky atmosphere. Very nice job dev!
I remember having played the first version of this and panicking the entire damn time and somehow you've made it even more panic inducing. This is one of only two games that, in my opinion, perfectly nail the feeling of being chased. Super happy this is going on Steam and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves cause you did an amazing job with it, I honestly don't even have actual criticism to give, this game is just genuinely good. Keep up the great work!
I streamed the full game on twitch yesterday (thanks again for the key, dev!) and everyone loved how dark and interesting the story was, specially me. There were a couple of technical flaws here and there but in terms of the actual story, the characters and the visuals, it was simply amazing and it saddens me that this game doesn't get more attention thrown its way cause it absolutely deserves it. I've never really tried to hide my mental health struggles from the people that watch my videos and streams and some of Annabelle's inner thoughts really resonated with me and her whole story almost brought me to tears, which makes me really excited for the next game (though I'm not really sold on the anime look yet, I definitely prefer the silhouettes for the character models). Really wish I had a steady enough income to support your work through you patreon but for now, best I can do is recommend this absolute gem of a game to everyone I know. The video linked here is just the first third of the stream but more will me coming out in the next few days because honestly I didn't want to cut down the recording at all XD
This has obvious similarities with Poppy Playtime (which isn't a bad thing) but with the added twist of only being able to see certain objects and the mascots themselves when you're using the correct light, which I think is genius. The only things I think need to be tweak are in relation to the characters movement, a mouse sensitivity slider is pretty essential for any games and, when sprinting, the head bobbing might be too shaky for some people (specially those prone to motion sickness). Other than that, this was a solid first chapter, allowing the player to get a feel for the mechanics and only getting a taste of what the story will be about. (I just hope the story doesn't derail like Poppy Playtime or worse, Garten of Banban XD)
Now THIS is one hell of a good demo. It's impossible not to compare it to Iron Lung (due to it being a submarine game where you can't directly see outside) but this took what was already a stressful concept and made it even more tense and stress inducing. I got fairly overwhelmed at first by the sheer complexity of the submarine but after getting the hang of it, it became extremely fun to pilot the sub around (though still tense of course thanks to some pretty great sound design). Honestly, the only thing that could make this even better than what it already is, would be to have proper voice acting. In fact, I would love to do that and help on this project, no payment needed, this is just an amazing game that I think deserves a lot of support (plus, I can imitate Siri's voice quite well so I think I could do the voice of the ship's AI). Seriously, you've got something amazing in your hands here, so much potential and I'll definitely be getting it on Steam once the full game is out! Keep up the amazing work!
Ok so this gives me the impression that it was translated on google or something and honestly, the chaos of the dialogue kind of distracted me a lot from the actual game. I do like the black and white visuals and using PNGs for the characters was pretty funny but I think there's a lot of things that need to be improved. First of all, the character gets stuck on everything while the player is walking around. Then the lights behave quite weirdly when you're not looking directly at them, which makes it less immersive. I also noticed some weird audio glitches every now and then and for seemingly no reason. It's not a bad game, but it does need work. Your game is the last one on my video and starts at 25:37
For your first horror game ever, this was quite good, I liked it a lot. I do wish the illumination from the lightning strikes had been used more, to maybe hide the monster amongst the trees or something subtle like that. But as it was, it was already quite eerie and unsettling. Though for future horror games, maybe having a better flashlight would be nice hahaha. Still, this was quite fun to play so good job on your first horror game! Your game is the second one on my video and it starts at 6:27
