I must state: this is not depth, but a disaster.
From my personal perspective, the narrative imposed by the game is profoundly unsettling. It demands the protagonist engage in self-reflection, actively forgive the perpetrator, and even endure being slapped by the abuser's mother—as if victims must perpetually justify their own suffering. More absurdly, it relentlessly emphasises victim-blaming, with constant suggestions—either from others or the protagonist themselves—that the victim bears significant fault.
You may wish to write about redemption, but please do not build it upon denying the victim's emotions, erasing their traumatic experience, and manipulating players into sympathising with the perpetrator through moral coercion. This is not a love story. It is a tale of power, shame, and emotional manipulation—disguised in the trappings of romance and sexuality. If you truly wish to write about redemption, it ought to begin with respecting the victim.
