Current version is stable but need / would like to add the following for next update.
- Simplify splash screen to show 'Math Blast' text only.
- Add structured progression / plot starting with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and maybe modulus, fractions and / or percentages.
- Lock order of rockets and start with Space Shuttle, maybe use only modern rockets, ie Space Ex, European, Chinese, Indian etc. Or historical rockets ie Sputnik, Saturn V etc with explanatory dialogue.
- Progress through different planets after rocket launches, Mercury, Venus, the Moon, Mars etc through Pluto maybe including the Sun.
- Potentially add side-scrolling asteroid dodging game after launch.
- Start menu checklist could include solar system graphic showing planets left.
- Ending could be final launch to deep space / inhabitable planet. Switch to RPG overhead inside spaceship with dad.
Uploaded latest version for in-browser player and downloadable ROM. Calling this version 3. Here are notes on what's been added / changed and what is still needed for it.
- Cleaned up and removed most old NPC's and dialogue.
- Disabled to-do list logic for getting in truck / going to Mount Tam.
- Removed option for going to Echo Lake, assets were never built.
- Darkened color of grass on X Street backgrounds.
- Made splash screen with X Street text.
- Doesn't need anything at this point as it is just a published version of first GB Studio / cart flashing project.
- Could be expanded to include characters / plot etc.
- In particular forest screens on mount Tam are set up to loop and could procedurally generate assets like a key etc for unlocking Alpine Club or cave.
- Also something is wrong with the in-browser player, too wide, off center? But playable / fine.
