for those of you with the direct x update, after doing some research you need to update your drivers.
Simply update by following these steps.
Windows key + I -> Update & security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates.
IF your drivers are up to date, I'm sorry.. Your driver is so prehistoric that the most recent update for them is OUTDATED which means that you probably need a new computer

Sadly I'm having this issue too because my laptop is about 8-10 years old from what I know.. I got it for free so I'm clueless.
My request to the creator is to make a port for DirectX12 because that is the one my laptop runs so im assuming its the older more common type
