Thanks! I’m still pretty new, so I don’t have a huge repository of instruments I can use yet. I definitely would’ve liked a different drum set for the first song,

There was actually a third track I wanted to add, but I never got past the composing stage. The third track would’ve been a festival-based track that would play in an area I call “Iridescent Beast Lair”

Now that you mention it, I do actually have the link for it somewhere.

Obviously, there isn’t much variance and this is VERY bare bones, but this would give you an idea for how the area would feel like. Definitely would’ve wanted to get this in if possible, but I don’t work that fast yet. I’ll keep working at it though!

Thanks! This jam honestly gave me such a hard time. After I exported the first track and uploaded it, I realized I made a mistake with the limited which messed with the master volume. Wish I could’ve made it sound more distinct in the mastering phase, but you live and you learn.

I love repeating my phrases all the time, but honestly? The biggest challenge was establishing it without making it sound repetitive. My main composing style is very much rock and touhou-esqe with emphasis on interval-based harmony. I feel compared to people who know how harmony works, I’m super into stacking and intertwining lines different rhythms and notes to make it feel like there’s always a note being played at least every half (even if that isn’t the case)

If you listen to the second one again, you’ll probably notice that the bass just kinda does its own thing. I’m not sure if this is a quirk I’ll ever change, but I like messing with distances and weird harmonies.

hopefully I get a chance to post here more. I’d love to have more people listen to what I make!

I love the ambience that both of them give! Super similar songs, but the feel completely different at the same. Reminds me a lot of 12am and 13am from deltarune. Love ye hear more bangers in the future too. Till next year’s jam!

Thanks! I’m glad you liked it! Truth be told, there was a secret third song I wanted to submit, but I only got as far as composing it. That song would’ve wrapped off the feeling of sea life even more since it was meant to be a festival song with fast paced aggressive rhythm to fit the scene I had in mind, but alas, I couldn’t finish it in time. After I tweak it and give it some additions, I plan on possibly posting it here.

Thanks again for the comment!

Hey! Thanks for the feedback!

yeah that’s completely fair, I still got a ways to go in terms of mixing (these were my first attempts at it) and writing definitely needs some work. I appreciate the notes and I’ll probably lock in more on them more for the next jam

That being said, I’m happy you liked it! Thanks again, and best of luck going through the submission!
