You have to download the .x86_64 file, put it whenever you want, right-click on it and in properties, find and check Is Executable checkbox. You can just double-click it afterwards to launch it. Executables in Linux do not have extensions so you have to mark it as such before you can run it.

My only problem (which is not listed here) is that you say we should use itch.io app, which is great and yes, we should for having automatic updates etc. But this simply does not work on Linux with the extension .x86_64 - it does not recognize it as "naked" install like Windows .exe file and tries to "install" it via "unknown" installer which fails... Could you please package Linux build into a .zip file so we are able to download it via the app and not watch for and manually download updates?
I think I know what is different now, based on looking at the receipt.json of both games and comparing download files of Buckshot Roulette and this. You distribute it directly as .exe or .x86_64, while they distribute it in .zip.
receipt.json for your game reflects this, it tries to install your game "naked" while for Buckshot Roulette, it detects it is an "archive" as it is in .zip and just unpacks it.
Uploading the game in a .zip file should help this issue, would be appreciated! This is only game I have to manage myself via manual download... Not ideal when there will be some update.
