There is nothing in this update. He released this beta version only to « appease » the people and slow down the drama. It’s been 4 months and he can’t even get a decent build out.
This is not a writer block. He said it himself, he needs to get the code to work. Also he probably finished writing everything since July/August since he released the alpha version of the update. Also you are not promising everyone anything ? So your situation is not the same as Kael’s. You are way off the chart there my friend. Please don’t participate in this drama.
No there is not. That’s also why people are angry, because maybe he will respond to our comments and offer a solution. But in almost 9 months it never happened.
I understand that the way I convey the message can be called toxic, but on a discord lots of people didn’t even try to understand what I meant. They just brushed it off like « this dude only says bs and is toxic » . I think you are lucky no one called you toxic lol, here on itchio people aren’t as mean as on the server, bc on the server even if they’re wrong, people can back them up.
Thank you, English is not my mother language so I understand why you think that. I mean, when I read it again I got what the exact same impression as you said you had. These past few days I’ve been under a lot of pressure so I kinda lost my calm, so I’m writing a lot more and faster than usual without checking if I’m being emotional in my comments.
Tbh this was more like a post were I vent, because saying the same thing again and again to different people was annoying me, or people saying things that are simply not true. I felt like people were doing this: « wow there is a drama, let’s comment about it without reading it in the first place». So yeah, I grew a lot like black knights in my last few posts. The worst thing is that when I wrote them, I tried to avoid being emotional and in my mind I wasn’t, but after reading them again…. I was. Definitely.
But as I said it’s not the first time nor the last that I will try to be a Grey knight. The worst part about it, it’s that I’ve come to the conclusion that Kael only responds in these 2 situations: you either praise him for his work, or you openly criticize him and say you hate him. It’s been months since I’ve first tried to have a peaceful conversation with other patreons, the mods, Kael but every time someone or something prevented that conversation to exist. It’s simply not working. We can only convince other people, but not Kael.
Also I don’t care what you are going to comment under this, but this is simply MY opinion and I am allowed to express it. You are allowed to express your disagreement with it, it’s fine, but don’t be assholes. That’s all I’m asking for.
I’m also not demanding an update, just things that could avoid another drama, and if you keep saying that rn everything is perfect…. Well expect new dramas in the future.
I don’t understand how certain people don’t want anyone criticizing FBTW. Like, I don’t care if the author doesn’t want to see my criticism ? I’m simply expressing myself but people call it hate. It’s always either love or hate with you guys and it’s seriously annoying. I tried to be a grey knight during the whole drama, but every time I said that some people have legitimate criticism and that Kael could try and improve things, you guys said that I was hating Kael. Or that I can’t criticize him bc it’s free stuff, that bc of me the VN isn’t out after 3 months (for example). Also that I’m a piece of trash bc I criticize his work, that everything’s perfect rn bc everything’s fine in the world, or even that my criticism isn’t valid bc what I said never happened (while it did).
I will say it AGAIN but CRITICISM DOESNT MEAN HATE. Do you understand now ? Also constructive criticism is good when the person receiving it is actually listening, but kael isn’t and never did, if he did, this drama wouldnt even exist. Also as a patreon, I know for a fact that even in the server Kael isn’t that active. When I tried to reach him, I was met with what seems to be a copy paste saying « srry I can’t talk to you I’m in a bad mood!!! -Kael » and then he posts on Twitter that he responded to every single DM he received. And then simps on the server love to say that the way kael communicates with the public or the server is PERFECT, but again it’s not.
But noooo, I’m a hater bc I say that things aren’t working rn. So yeah, I’m directly criticizing Kael bc after almost 9 months in this community there was 0 improvement.
Also, I see A LOT of simps defending Kael while not knowing ANYTHING about the whole situation. You are the most annoying kind of people in this drama, bc every time we have a discussion you say the exact same thing. There is 0 new arguments and the only one you have is « Kael is god and if you criticize him we will criticize you and tell you the same thing until you stop talking forever. » that’s honestly how it feels. Also you always dismiss what happened in the past bc that’s bs ofc and you simply don’t care ??? He could’ve killed someone but you would still love him. Ffs might as well talk to wall.
So in the end, imo there are 2/3 that needs to change in order to stop this drama (but it won’t work bc why would it ???):
_ Kael needs to be more transparent with his community and improve the way he communicates
_ Kael needs to get an hold on his community and needs learn how to control it
_ The whole community needs to stop acting like a f***ing shield that needs to protect Kael at all cost, as you LOVE to say, he is HUMAN and he can be wrong sometimes. But he can also be right don’t get me wrong. The thing is, you always dismiss every single person who criticize FBTW bc you think they’re simply wrong, while telling them that they are the only one thinking like that. You are acting as if the majority is always right and are bullying the minorities that try to improve things. This happens here on itch, but also on the discord, every time they tried to have a pacific discussion, mods come in and tell them that they are wrong, and ask them in a passive-aggressive way to shut up. How can anyone be alright with that ? Oh, they simply don’t care !
Oh uh, for those saying that I should read other vn, what about….. no ? I care about this VN and I like it, that’s why I am angry at you. Love is blind, that’s why you can’t see what’s wrong rn. For the people who think « I’ve seen enough things about kael and FBTW to have my own opinion » and still think that kael and his VN are perfect beings, you are either, wrong bc you didn’t see enough things, or are completely delusional bc there are some pretty fucked up things that Kael did, and if you tolerate what he did, please don’t ever talk to me.
Kael said that he doesn’t need a break. Also I have the right to express my disappointment towards Kael attitude. His attitude impacts things outside the VN. This is not really about the VN anymore tbh and you should not say the whole drama is a kitten fight bc it’s clearly not. And for the past things he did he deserves it imo, but as always people who don’t know shit about the whole situation will come and defend everything kael does.
Well at first I was a Kael and FBTW simp too you know ? I’ve seen so many disappointed things that I can assure you, even if you think you have seen enough, you haven’t.
