I hope more can come of this project! I managed to craft the campfire, but then after I stood on it, the game froze and I could no longer interact with anything or open the menus. I like the look of the more finished visuals a lot, and the ambient background noise is great.

I'll definitely give it another go! I thought something like that might have been the case ;)

This is absolutely fantastic! The game gives such an esoteric vibe and playing around with the instruments is super satisfying. Everything feels very cohesive and examining the stars and planets and moons is pretty fun. I will say, the start of the game is quite disruptive with how freqeuently the tutorial pop-ups appear. Perhaps it would be better to combine more of these messages together so there are fewer of them.

I really love the sketched artworks here. They feel so expressive and fit well with the vibe. Visual novels aren't really my thing personally, but I can appreciate the effort that went into accessibility features as well as the soundtrack and sfx that are used.

The game isn't public - gotta change a setting I think!

I'd like to try it, but it's password locked!

Firstly, I absolutely love the visuals and soundtrack of War of the Waygates. It's vibrant, exciting, and all meshes together really well. The game feels good to play, but I think it is a bit too hard for me. I was very quickly overwhelmed on the first level by the number of ranged enemies, and I don't seem to have a ranged attack of my own to combat them, so I'd just die over and over without making a dent. Even my own units were being killed before they got anywhere near them, so I couldn't use them as shields. The game feels smooth and responsive, I'd just wish for a lower difficulty at least at the start to get into it, especially since I'm going from the tutorial with barely a trickle of melee enemies directly into having 2 gates to monitor and way more ranged enemies than I can handle. Loads of potential here, and I definitely appreciate the thought and effort that went into the sounds, music, and the learn sounds menu.

I don't know if that's the way you should take this feedback - I'd encourage you to join the discord and hear out your target audience to understand where they're coming from. There are loads of people there who would love to help you refine your concept :)
