Yes, you can start working on your game early if you wish. 

As long as the game as a whole isn't offensive or derogatory. And if it's going to be NSFW please make sure to label it is such and include any content warnings.

Feminine males are allowed as they're identified as male. 

Futanari or intersex is dependant on how the character identifies and/or chooses to present themselves. E.g. if they use she/her pronouns and are primarily female identifying then no. 

The jam has a focus on the queer male experience. 

There is a sequel that has been outlined. I'm just taking a break from it to work on other projects at the moment.

I don't know if I would consider it canon, but the sabotage route is the first route that I wrote.

As a free game that was made for a game jam, no, there won't be any more updates to this game of the nature that you are pushing for.

A sequel has been outlined that focus' on Jodeci and his potential love interest, Peter is a side character, but it's on hold while I work on other projects. 

At the end of the day, there's too many ideas and not enough time or money to work on everything.

So that's a tough one.  Since itchio updated their rules on games that contain adult content some time ago to prohibit a bunch of stuff, one of which includes bestiality and animal-related content, it would really depend on what kind of game you end up making. And if you want to make it NSFW or commercial then that would probably get it banned from itchio and the jam. 

Your game can be in another language. But it's recommended to have an English version as well so we can double check it fits the yaoi Jam rules.

Can you clarify what you mean by not people?

I promise I don't have favourites, haha. When I started writing One Last Night in the Woods, Rohit was the only LI, but then I started writing Leo's character and thought "Oh no! He's hot!!" so now everyone get's two LIs.

I'm also happy the vertical display works on phones :)

Yes, unfortunately your game was one of the few being removed because it does not meet the rules of the jam. Your game was previously published and released on September 2024. Games submitted to yaoijam must be new and made for the jam of that year meaning previously published games are not allowed.

Yeah I wanted there to be an ending where they make amends and could rekindle their friendship. It can be so hard to admit fault and rebuild trust.

Unfortunately Jodeci and Nathaniel remain single in this game. Lol. But I really should work on Jodeci's sequel one day. 

Yes. I've got his backstory planned... Just need to kick my butt into gear and write his actual story. Lol

The voice actor for Peter has actually gone on to do dubs for some anime! He's very talented.

With itchio cracking down on games containing certain themes, I would recommend not making the characters 'Young Boys'. If you want to create a game with the themes your listed, best make the characters adults for now. 

And regarding brands, I have no problem with it.
