If there is a warning saying that "this application cannot be opened" on Mac when attempting to download the software, it means that a file inside has not been labeled correctly.
To fix this, follow these steps (thx Ninja Coder Tech!):
- Right-click the app (two-finger click on trackpad), then press "show package contents" on the dropdown thing that pops up.
- Double click the "Contents" folder to open it.
- Open Terminal (the black command prompt-looking app). You may have to look for it in the launchpad.
- Drag the MacOS folder onto the terminal window. There should be a white outline in the window while you hover over with the folder.
- Back in Finder, open the MacOS folder.
- Go back to the terminal and type in chmod +x (or chmod 755), making sure to leave a space at the end.
- Drag the file that should be labelled Digital-Logic-Sim from Finder and into the terminal window, and press Enter.
- Exit terminal, and try opening the app again.
If you have any issues, take it up in the replies. Again, thanks to Ninja Coder Tech who commented the same process on the v1 of this project-game-thing.
