Probably going to be the last game I play for the jam! I really liked the narrative here and the art/writing were both really effective at keeping me engrossed in the game! Fantastic work. I'm hoping for more down the line! There is a certain energy between Akira and Sera, and I am HERE for it. I can't really suggest anything that hasn't already been put forward, so I'll just say thanks for making it!

Cool game! I went and slaughtered the hoard of guard near the end, but wound up reviving with 0 HP as I defeated the last one, meaning I couldn't do anything and couldn't finish. Something to look into if you plan on sticking with this game, and I really hope you do!

Nice idea! I did wind up softlocking myself in level 3. If you, as the ghost, don't get back to your body on the conveyor belt before it goes through the portal, you're SOL and have to reboot. Thankfully the levels are not long so it's not a major issue. Good use of the theme!

Thanks!

Really glad I got to play this before voting ended! What an emotional ride for such a short game. I would love to see more! I really like how the character covered her eyes for certain interactibles and you just... couldn't interact with them. However found 1 bug: The kitchen ??? has the same dialogue as the drapes. Might be some event overlap there.

All in all, a great game with wonderful art, music and storytelling. Hoping for more down the road!

Thank you very much! It's funny what not sleeping a healthy amount each day can accomplish xD

Thanks for playing! I appreciate your compliments, especially about the writing!

Bleak and miserable outcomes all around. Loved it! I wasn't expecting to find another text-based adventure, but this deserves a lot more attention!

What an interesting experience! I am looking forward to what comes next. I was hoping when I hit continue after THAT happened, I'd load back into the bar with Emma, but it seems like that was the end of the demo. Definitely will be watching for the full thing! I love the atmosphere, writing and art!

Popeye got me. Guess I should have eaten me spinach.

In all seriousness, though, this game was a lot of fun. I love lidar scan games for horror. They have so many unique ways to mess with your head and the environment that others do not. Good job making this in just a few days! Maybe reel in the environment size a bit or make some of the items a bit easier to spot if you plan to stick with these. Those both added to a bit of tedium moreso than they did tense atmosphere.

Fun retrostyle game! Increase the speed of the gameworld/movement and add some music, and this will be a blast! Hoping for more in the future!

I was not expecting to find a rhythm game for the game jam, but here it is! What a great time. I sadly did not have time to experience everything, as I wish to get to as many games as possible in this final hour of the gamejam, but I loved the art, the story was intriguing and makes me want to return to see the rest, and the rhythm game mechanic was fun, if a little unintuitive regarding the beamed eighth notes requiring only 1 button press and not two. But still, for a few days work, this was excellent! Looking forward to more!

Solid tower defence game. I did not read the instructions so I wound up being unable to get any money for the rest of my run. Just me and my frogs against Hell. Fun though!

Played this a while back but completely forgot to leave a rating! It's a great game! Really liked the art style and it fit the theme well. Nice work!

A great platformer with creative mechanics! I managed to get 29/30 stars. For level 7 (not counting the tutorial) there is either some insanely high level movement tech I'm not just able to pull off, or it seems you require 2 ghosts and 1... walkymanthing to die to get all the flowers, but the level only allows for 2 deaths, so I personally couldn't get the final star. I'm sure it's possible but I have no idea how. Great game overall! Just wish there was music to accompany!

Personally I'm not sure the lack of flashlight accomplished that so much as it did make me strain my eyes a bit :p but I've also been playing horror games since I was 4 years old so I'm majorly decensitized to the genre and don't find anything scary lol

Glad to see the game is back up! I had a good time with it. I really like the retrostyle graphics and the music was a bop. A bit too easy, however. I never died, so I never had to use the "death is an opportunity" mechanic. Maybe give the player a bit less health at the start, or make it so your bonus weapons have limited ammunition going forward. Overall, though, great game! A lot of fun and I hope more people give it a chance before voting ends!

A very charming puzzle/platformer! The music was good without becoming repetitive, the visuals were great, the puzzles were not overly complex, but not brain-dead either. Overall, very good use of the theme! One thing to note: the final orb can be collected out of ghoast form. Idk if this was an intentional mercy, so if the player was low on lives they wouldn't get softlocked, or if it was a bug, but just wanted to make sure you were aware of it in case of the latter! Great job!

There's no need to feel pressured to play through it! It's a very long game, I went totally overkill on the scope.

As for the paladin's oath heal, the paladin class is... janky to say the least. I'm pretty sure a lot of their skills are broken and require a total revamping, and it's the first thing I intend to do once voting ends!

Thank you for your kind words and time!

Thank you very much!

I slept roughly 20 hours across all the days since the theme was announced and the game was submitted. I do NOT recommend... but thank you very much. I've been meaning to give your game a shot and will do so now before voting ends!

I'm surprised it's taken me this long to find a "whack your boss" style game for this jam! I'm sure there have been loads but this is the first one I've come across. Lot of fun!

I'm digging the overall aesthetic! Reminds me of newgrounds flash games and I loved those. Good job on the game/theme!

Cool game with fun mechanics and nice visuals. Good job overall!

Aaaah you know what, that makes sense! I can see that happening. I will definitely give the game another go once the jam is over! I really like the aesthetic and premise you've got going on here, it has some good horror potential!

Fun game! Fits the theme well and it's an inventive mechanic. Sadly the game kept crashing every time I held ctrl to crouch and freeze myself for more than 2 seconds, making any ledges I needed a stepping stool for a VERY dicey experience if I got to proceed oooor had to start from level 1 again. But other than that, fantastic game!

I rebooted the game and spawned the door, the key and the flashlight, then this time raced out into the darkness... only to get stuck again. I wound up trapped in a 2-inch square of floor next to an unlit torch, unable to move in any direction. I swear I'm not trying to do this on purpose; I really want to see what this game has to offer. I gave it a high rating, I just don't think the game likes me xs

Really interesting idea for a horror game! Unfortunately, I quickly softlocked myself by going back to the paper after picking up the flashlight. There didn't seem to be a way to back out, and it just held me staring at the paper without being able to type anything.

Cute and morbid, a fantastic combination! I'm looking forward to the updated version with sounds, as this game is so charmingly sinister with its clashing tones. I love it!

It is impressive! The game is not easy by any means (in fact I think it might be a bit TOO brutal because no one can finish it except me from the sounds of it xD) Thanks for playing! Going to give your game a shot now!

Honestly, if you just nerf vampirism to be like, 10% of what it is (so like, you heal 0.5%, not 5%), and maybe dial back the chance rate of damage boost being an upgrade that shows up, you'd have a significant boost in difficulty overall for very little effort. But either way, I'm looking forward to the next version!

A fun oldschool 2000s era shooter. Gunplay is solid, maps are good, story keeps you moving at a brisk pace. Only thing I would have liked is a flashlight, but you did enough lighting in the levels that it wasn't mandatory.

Thank you so much! I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed it so much. I hope I'm able to live up to expectations in the future as I'm not known to be the most timely with updates as I'm usually juggling 4 or 5 different hobbies at the same time  xD

Thank you very much! I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, especially for how long it is.I appreciate you taking the time to give it a shot even though it's not you style of game :)

Fun arena shooter! A bit too easy for my liking, so I went and replayed with some limitations: Just the pistol, and no Vampirism because it's OP AF. My score wasn't that great, but I managed to beat all 10 waves on 1 life still! The game worked just marvelously as is and fits the theme well. The enemy variety is good for a first version, and the music was the right amount of hype without being too much or too little. Great work!

Confession: I do not know how to play Baccarat.

And after skipping the tutorial and not reading the rules, I still have no idea how to play Baccarat, but I almost made 200K. I did figure out that 9 was the magic number and there was some looping going on, but I learned that at the cost of 3 of my initial lives xD

Great game.

Fun game overall! Keys were pretty easy to find but not SO easy they were obtainable instantly. I encountered a bit of a but around 1AM though. I just... couldn't run anymore. Crouched, uncrounched, my character just wasn't having it. So if I was spotted, it was pretty much game over unless there was a hiding spot nearby. All in all though, good game. I have no idea what the phone dude said at the start though. The second he started talking, the monster started chasing me so I went off hunting for keys xD

Like others have said, the art is gorgeous! The overall game was fun too. I like the atmosphere you've got going on. I want to just lounge around the place and soak in the aesthetics, but duty calls and there are matches to be made xD Good job!

After years of working with RPG maker, I've learned that it's much easier to break a game, than it is to make one xD No need to apologize about the bug, I merely wanted to bring it to your attention in case you were not aware :)

When people say "Don't give up skeleton!" This. This is what they're referring to. Never give up smacking the shiz out of those soldiers xD Fun game overall. A bit slow, but I can vibe with slower games too. Not everything needs flashing bells and whistles to keep my attention... usually.

Nice little teaser for what appears to be a thriller/mystery VN? I really dig the art. It's like diving into a Grimm's tale storybook. Nicely done! Interested to see where things go!
