Really cool! Amazing what you've done in this amount of time! It's fun and it works well!
I only think it gets a little repetitive to do the same levels over and over to repair systems, but at the same time it's nice to know exactly where to go. I think this was just the right amount of time for this.
Also, some levels are really hard (the piston and gear rooms) and doing the gears as my first level was a bit of a rough introduction xD maybe limit the first day to only 1-2 steps and make those levels in reach easy to ease in the player a bit.
Also also, some checkpoints would be nice, I died just before the exit a few times and having to redo most of the level is a bit annoying.
Those are really nitpicks though! I really enjoyed it and got an 85% S rank :D
Love this! Reminds me of "Into the Breach" with the pushing of pieces and trying to push them off the board! That's a big complement as Into the Breach is one of the few games I actually 100% completed. Good job! :D
I do think it could do with a small tutorial to explain the controls though, but it was easy to figure out (and if I read the description first that would've helped xD)
Very fun and very much my type of game! :D Sadly the papers that should show at the start (the foreclosure notice and the letter) don't seem to show on my computer :( Like I can see the animation for a few frames, but then when I think it's supposed to be visible I don't see it. No idea why though, I played in browser (firefox) and didn't maximize, but other than that there seemed to be no issues.
The TNT feels a bit OP but it's very fun! :D Good job on this game!
I like the idea, but I'm either too stupid to solve the first problem where you make your own tags or it just doesn't work? My answer was (from top->bottom) 8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16. They were integer type (I used the left most box, which looks like ints to me). I did try some other solutions before that obviously didn't fit the criteria, so maybe there was some junk nodes left behind from that?
Anyway, I feel the first rounds with predefined labels were more fun! I had to figure out what to do with the labels I had. Ofc that makes it a lot easier, but I feel giving complete freedom to make your own labels might be too much. Like with predefined labels those are clues I'm doing something wrong and there aren't like infinite possibilities to do it wrong. With my own labels I have no clues and it's very hard to then understand if I'm wrong or if the game is not working as intended. Maybe instead of complete freedom to make labels, have like 1 or 2 labels the player can change, together with a bunch of predefined ones. Or have labels with special effects, like maybe some can be wildcards or count as 2 different numbers, etc?
Did you figure out you can hide by turning off your engine? If the centipede is really close it won't lose track, but if there is some distance and you turn off the engine it will lose track of you. What works well for me is to carefully listen for the centipede as I drive around and turn off my engine when I hear it nearby.
That said, there's definitely some balancing we could do to improve things (I think we should be more gracious about it losing track and once it finds you and hits you maybe it should go away for a bit to give you a chance to escape?). Anyway, thanks for playing and giving feedback! :D
Awesome and thanks! Glad you liked it :) I watched your playthrough and that of a few others and you're not the first to get stuck there. We know some things that we should've hinted at and there are few "totally intentional features" that we hadn't seen until after publishing xD
We actually fixed some of those issues, but we can't update our entry until after the contest (disclaimer: no guarantee we will do that).
Cheers!
