Thank you for your comment! The reason we're so tired is that, in the story, the whole game is a actually a dream that replays days leading up when postman collapsed from overwork. The main problem is that I thought I could manage to program and design the full story, but I run out of time and had to cut the true ending, a lot of effects and elements that would have explained everything, just to ship something people can actually play for 10 minutes. For example, when you enter House N31 (where the bucket quest starts) I had planned a cutscene, but would have settle for just making him blink because I was really low on time. Yes, we are the same person, and every house in the scene is ours. The bucket filling was meant to show a lapse in conciousness, like he'd already done it without noticing. The piles of letters in the last house is because it's a replay of his final day before collapsing. It's actually pretty sad that I couldn't really finish the vibe. But I think this is still a good start (that's my first actually finished project). And I'm really glad you found it pretty funny and thought-provoking!

Dreamcore Jam 2026 community · Created a new topic Narrative designer/game writer looking for a team
Hello, my name is Dmitriy.
I came back to gamedev last week, after a break of a few years. I love the vibes of liminal spaces and dreamcore. I want to be a narrative designer/game writer for a project, being responsible for writing lore and in-game text. I can also help with coding, testing, game design and writing content for the game page. If project goes further, I can write community posts, devlogs, etc. I'm looking to join a team.
