I'm a simple Stag: I see pterodactyls in the encounter chart, I upvote.
1 liners aside, this is really nice adventure, and one of the few A6 formatted entries that really took advantage of the medium without feeling like everything was too small.

Good job. Also a banger cover. Gonna steal Basalt edge for my next fantasy game.

Cairn is super easy to learn, so you shouldn't really have any troubles picking it up :)

Thank you!

RE: The needed correction

It should read "Rodenberry Waves almost always prevent interstellar comms," the implication being that the simple SOS just barely got through out of sheer chance.

The only cons I feel to point out is I find the font a little hard to read from a screen

When I release the full version of this (after my Cairn-inspired Trek-like rules are out) I'm definitely going larger on the font size, and more varied on font type. The current type is compressed 9 point futura iirc, so I'm not surprised folks are having trouble parsing it.

Disclaimer: Despite what the massive wall of text below might have you believe, I really liked this!

Also, fantastic fantastic art. The cover was great, but my favorite piece art of gully. I'm a sucker for people that can actually cartoon.

This adventure was really hard to figure out what exactly was happening until I read the last page. For other folks rating this adventure, you should download the booklet version, since the information presentation n that version is a lot more clear. Still, if I had one critique of this module, it is that it was really hard to figure out what was happening, and I still don't quite understand how the barrier works (besides it preventing Star-N606 from finding the place). What happens to the PC's if they try to cross it?

Some questions I'd love to see answered in a full version of this adventure:
Are the PC's from the same planet as the Crimson Vale? If so, how are they getting through the Stormsong in the first place? Can others also go through the Stormsong? What is happening outside of the Crimson vale on-planet?

Glad you liked it! Yours is on my to-read list for this coming weekend (so many modules to read). Looking forward to it :)

Thank you :)

Thank you! I'm always a sucker for the "_______ but it's actually alive" Trek episodes. Lots of room there for crazy shit.

Oh yeah, I'm absolutely planning on using a larger font size for non-Jam stuff. The current size was mostly a concession to this being a jam entry.
Thank you!

Thanks for checking it out!

Regarding the text: What was hard to read? Was it the font? A style thing? This is going to be turned into a starter adventure for my own bespoke Trek-like system, and it would be great to have that feedback for that version.

Thank you! :)

Love how clean this is. Lots happening hear, but all of the information is crystal clear. Also, it's for Cairn so I can run it soon :) !

An absolute meatgrinder, in a good way. Funny, too!

This has some really great TSR vibes in it.

Also, damn, you fit a 20 room dungeon in two pages. That's crazy.

Really love that this makes wolves interesting again. And the text is quite poetic too! Mother Moon is such a great name for a God.

Came for the cover, stayed for the gonzo. One of my favorites of this jam :)

This is the kind of adventure I want to see coming out of these jams! Written for an author's personal system and exploring their personal interests while still being on-theme. Just pure passion in this.
But don't let the phrase "pure passion" mislead you: "passion project" doesn't even begin to describe the level of professional polish on this module. Really excited to go read all of your other stuff!

Thank you :)

Really glad that people like the character relationships I wrote in. Honestly wasn't really aware that I was writing factions while I was writing this, but the positive responses have given me a lot to think about.

Btw, I loved what you did with the aesthetics of your adventures layout :)

Didn't realize this was the Perils and Princesses guy until I read the comments.
It's a lil fighty for my tastes, but we're not rating modules based on their fightiness, now are we? 5's down the board. On theme, direct, easy to understand, and with a lot of room for tragedy.

Me after reading this module:

I'm in Danger': The Evolution of a One-Liner Into a Viral Meme

A classic "escort this idiot coward" mission, love your description of him as a "milksop dandy" lmao

For the map, I think regular numbers would have been better to use than roman numerals. If you end up updating this after the jam, I'd definitely like to see that!

What can I say? Im a sucker for a trifold.
Fun auction mechanics for hell. Gonna throw this at my open table players when they eventually go to hell hehe.

YYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSS

Thank you! :) I really loved your entry too!

My only feedback is the typos. For the future, additional proofreading will be great

Yeah, that's my bad. Editor caught a bunch of stuff, and then I went and added a bunch of stuff. Whoops.

fuck man, this really steals the show. Good job!

Layout clean. Writing clean. Emotional beats. Great joke at the end. Nothing in this feels excessive, cramped. Everything is exactly what it needs to be.

BANGER BANGER BANGER

Lol

Omg I loved your adventure/game! Won't be surprised if you "win" the jam :) Thanks for checking out Viridian Pit

Thanks for reading! I just shot your adventure to some of my friends that play Shadowdark, really enjoyed the premise on yours :)

I love the setup for this! Gonna show it to a friend of mine who is obsessed with Shadowdark, since I really want to play this!

Thanks for checking it out :), really liked yours!

Finally got the time to read this: Super runnable, very Cairn. I love the Taipan, gonna steal it and the irradiation mechanic for my home game!

Some cool-ass Space Western stuff in here. The writing is very thematic, the map is great. Just a lot of good stuff going on here.

same on this

Dude really fit a whole campaign in here, damn. This is really, really good. If I wasn't playing a big campaign right now, I would drop whatever I was doing and run this.

The visual design of this is great, and it makes me want to take a shot at something like it. One of the highlights of the jam!

Same really inspiring layout here. Very nice :)

Haven't had a chance to get to this yet, planning on it tomorrow! But I'm excited, we need more Cairn forest crawls! :)

The writing in this fucks so hard. The dialogue written in is great:

“Bring me the living spine of Zempra
Ampos, and I shall reward each of you 500
golden scepters! The monastery admits
no armed expedition, no sorcerer’s envoy,
and no thief openly bearing st eel. But it
accepts pilgrims, and I have procured for
you that very guise!”

Banger passage.
Great art too.

I want a full-length A5 version of this ASAP.

Holy shit this art is incredible. Extremely thematic

Question in title :)

a coherent aesthetic that’s both very Cairn and very Star Trek

This made my heart very happy :)
